This Portfolio contains Projects that involved the design of an addition to a fine antique home. Such additions help to preserve the original house while providing space in which to update the home for modern living. Such additions should be in harmony with the original style of the old house. The historical preservation standard supports this view with the caviat that 'upon close inspection' it be possible to see evidence of a later date than the original. When specifying an addition, I do hold to this and to the preservation of the original building's fabric and character.
